A great 2017 6th annual 24-hour board game marathon for TSSUS/Carolinas

Each year it’s harder and harder to top the amount of fun and comraderie we are able to have during the 24 hour marathon but each year we somehow manage to surprise me!

This year was no different. We had another amazing turnout for the 6th annual event, once again hosted by The Gamers Armory in Cary NC!

We had 50 24 hour players and about 28 Overnight players for this year’s event. And thanks to the amazing support by them and our whole GFC community both locally and across the country we raised $22,000 yet again for TSSUS/Carolinas.

I cannot thank everyone enough for the amazing support. From Players to Publishers and designers and also the local business community as well, we have some of the best support anyone could ask for.

In the coming weeks we will be posting some recaps of the events as well as some pictures from the big day.

Well, this year’s Marathon has come and gone…

Hello again everybody,

Well, it’s Monday afternoon, and I think I have finally recovered from a lack of sleep and overdose of board games this past weekend. So, just a quick update about the Gamers for Cures 24 Hour Board Game Marathon to benefit the Turner Syndrome Society of the US, which was held this past Saturday (and into Sunday) November 7th, 2015. Dan (Geekjock) will have a more formal writeup about the event soon, with lists of prize winners, the exact amount raised, so many thank yous, etc.

The two big highlights are:

First off, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Thank you to so many people and organizations for donating time, money, products, services, the list goes on and on. Whether you were a participant, volunteer, sponsor, donator, we could not have done any of it without you.

Secondly, earlier today, Dan announced on Twitter that with your help we raised $20,000 about $22,000! Wow. That is well beyond our wildest dreams. We had a goal of $17,500. This is just mind numbing.

That’s it for now, look for Dan’s writeup soon!

-Adam
